Speech for Dedication Ceremony

폭염만큼이나 영어 교육 열기가 뜨거운 여름이었습니다.

This summer has been hotter than any other summer

throughout the country due to the enthusiasm of English.

영일 영어체험센터 개관을 기쁘게 생각하며 사랑과 정성을 다해 주신 학생, 학부모님, 선생님들 대단히 감사합니다.

I am very happy to open the English Experience Center for teaching and learning English. I am thankful to my students, the parents and the teachers who helped me. Their hard work will never be forgotten.

오늘의 개관이 있기까지 지원과 지도를 아끼지 않으신 영주교육청 박상오 교육장님, 우동하 장학사님 대단히 고맙습니다.

I want to thank Superintendent Park Sang-oh and Supervisor Woo Dong-ha both of Young-ju Office of Education for their support and help to open our center without any difficulties.

글로벌 인재 양성 도시를 만들어 주신 김주영 영주시장님 대단히 감사합니다.

  And I also want to thank Mr. Kim Joo-young, Mayor of Yeong-ju City for a good management of Yeong-ju City and his belief in developing good global leaders.

경북 제1호 영어체험센터의 깃발을 올리게 해 주신 영주시의원님들과 시민 여러분들께 뜨거운 감사와 감동을 드립니다.

This is the first English Experience Center to be dedicated in North Kyoung-sang Province. I'd like to express my gratitude to Yeong-ju City Council members and Yeong-ju citizens for helping us to open this center.

지금을 “영어 광풍시대”라 하기도 하고 영어 “몰입사회”라 하기도 합니다.

Someone says, today is not only an era for English but a society immersed in it."

이러한 때 이렇게 좋은 교육 환경을 만들어 주신 은혜에 진심으로 감사드리며 좋은 교육으로 보답하겠습니다.

At this time I, as principal of this school, thank everyone for setting up a good educational environment for our students. We promise to teach your children even more earnestly that before.

영어란 “가르쳐지는 것이 아니라 사용함으로써 배우게 된다” 라고 하였습니다.

It is said that "English is not taught but picked up by using it in a real situation."

우리 학생들이 영어를 가까이 하고

두려움 없이 영어를 많이 사용할 수 있게 하여

글로벌 인재의 기초를 튼튼히 하겠습니다.

We teachers will make our students familiar with English,

and get them used to using English without having any fears

We will build a strong foundation for growing global leaders

에듀메카 영주의 명성을 높이고

우리 영주가 영어 교육의 메카가 되도록 최선을 다하겠습니다.

Enhancing the fame of Yeong -ju as a Edumecca 

We will do our best for Yeong-ju to be the Mecca

of English Education and the development of global leaders.
